Carclew needs you to help shape its future

For more than half a century Carclew has been exposing young South Australians to the arts.

Now the North Adelaide-based institution wants to hear from anyone who has been a part of Carclew’s story over the years to help inform its strategic vision into the future.

Below is a letter from patron Marjorie Fitz-Gerald OAM (pictured below right) asking everyone to take a few minutes to fill in the survey and help to ensure that future generations of young South Australians can get a taste for art through Carclew.

“To all past and present Carclew kids, artists and youth arts workers, I want to ask this of you.

For over 50 years, Carclew has had specific programs ranging from first exposure to the arts world, right through to maturing young adults, encouraging an interest in and love of arts and culture.

As it moves into the future Carclew wants to hear from you so we can develop programs that are relevant for today and tomorrow. Your experiences will help us shape our future plans.marjorie

We want to understand what Carclew meant to you at the time, and what it means to you now in reflection.

You may have been involved in a workshop at Carclew House or in your school, joined us for a concert or performance at the house and grounds, worked for a youth arts organisation like Lowdown or the Come Out Festival (aka DreamBIG Festival) or been a part of one of Carclew’s special programs or just attended an open day or night market over the years.

We want to hear from you. Please take the time to fill out the survey below which will help us understand Carclew’s impact on your life.

We believe youth arts are vitally important in shaping South Australia’s future creative thinkers. You are one of them.

This is a relatively short survey, taking about 15 minutes to complete. We greatly appreciate and thank you for your time and contribution.

Early exposure to the arts was life-changing for me and at 91 is still a significant part of my life. I hope your experiences at Carclew have proved the same for you.”

If you have interacted with Carclew and want to help, please fill out the Carclew Experience Survey.
