Discover some of the best fishing spots in Adelaide and South Australia.

Brighton Jetty, Adelaide:
Commonly regarded as Adelaide’s best metropolitan fishing jetty, Brighton is a top spot for squid year-round, blue swimmer crabs in summer and King George whiting in winter. The jetty is located between two other popular spots, Glenelg and Seacliff.


Long Beach, Limestone Coast:
Just north of Kingston South-East is top surf fishing destination Long Beach. At the drive-on beach, you can catch mulloway, salmon and much more.


Whyalla Jetty, Eyre Peninsula:
Whyalla’s unique, circular jetty on the Eyre Peninsula is 315 metres long with bespoke lighting in the handrail for 24-hour use and access. You can catch tommy ruff, garfish, whiting and squid. This jetty has accessible options with six sliding sleeves at different points along the top handrail, allowing people to fish at different heights.


The Dusthole at Daly Head, Yorke Peninsula:
The Dusthole at Daly Head is a 20-minute drive from Marion Bay and offers kilometres of surf fishing opportunities for salmon and mulloway fishers.


Sugars Beach and the Murray Mouth, Fleurieu Peninsula:
Sugars Beach at Hindmarsh Island offers views of the Murray Mouth, where the River Murray meets the Southern Ocean. Expect to catch salmon trout, mullet, mulloway, and bream.


Port River, Adelaide:
The Port is a much-loved spot among local fishers, with plenty of variety in the catching. Species caught include bream, salmon trout, tommy ruff, flounder, slimy mackerel, and flathead. Popular sites include Snowden Beach, Torrens Island wharf, and Garden Island jetty.
